Despite the efforts of Dak Prescott, the Cowboys fell short in the playoffs. The San Francisco 49ers knocked them out of the competition. On Sunday, The NFC wild-card round game ended with a score of 23-17. It was an upsetting end to a very promising season. 

The Cowboys fans were very angry with how things played out. They started to throw trash on the field. Some say they aimed it at the players. But the Cowboys, including Dak Prescott, deny it. They say they aimed it at the officials, not at the players. Looking at the footage from AT&T, it seems like the fans targeted everything at sight.

The chaotic fourth quarter of the game

The Sunday night wild-card game was very rough for the Cowboys. They had difficulty in making any plays. They ended the first quarter with a 10 point deficit and no points on the board. It was only the beginning of what was to come next. Until the start of the fourth quarter, the Cowboys only had three points.

It seemed like San Francisco had the number of the Cowboys’ defense. They were always one step ahead. Dak Prescott and the offense put together a comeback in the fourth quarter. But it was not enough. They still fell.

Dak Prescott made a desperate attempt towards the end of the game. He ran with the ball in order to gain some extra yards. The run was a success, but Prescott could not make a play after that. There were still a few seconds left, but the QB did not hand the referee the ball. The clock didn’t stop, and the Cowboys lost all the time. They also faced 14 penalties for 89 yards.

Dak Prescott on fans throwing trash on the field 

Dak Prescott is in denial that the trash was aimed at the players. He thinks that the fans are also mad at the referees, and this is how they are letting them know. After the game, Prescott did an interview. In the interview, he said, “The fans felt the same way as us.” The Cowboys quarterback adds, “I guess that’s why the refs took off and got out of there so fast. I think everybody is upset with the way this thing played out.”
