Rodgers mentions, “No, actually. I got a call from a Mississippi number last night, and I was kind of hoping it might be Brett [Favre]. But uh, it was Rich Campbell, who I’ve met before, and he just wished me good luck.”

When the Packers chose Aaron Rodgers as the 2005 Draft pick, Brett Favre was reportedly not happy. The problem lay among the Packers, who brought in his potential replacement. At that time, he was 35 and determined to continue as a QB. The situation caught some traction after a 2016 video where the HOF QB mentioned it is not his job to mentor A-Rod.

Despite a cold start, the two lived in harmony at Green Bay, with Favre serving as the starter for three seasons. However, the Packers later traded the veteran to the New York Jets and handed the scepter to Rodgers.

The Green Bay Packers traded up to select Jordan Love and used the 26th pick in the first round to elect him. This trade seemed to rekindle Rodgers’ anger, and he was not happy about it. Currently, Love is in his third season as Aaron Rodgers’ backup quarterback. It is too early to determine if Love will make the grade. But replacing Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre will require a lot of skill and consistency.
