Aaron Rodgers has reached a point in life where he can have anything he desires. With a net worth of nearly $200 million dollars and his desired destination, right at the heart of New York City, Rodgers has everything he could have possibly dreamed of (except multiple Super Bowls, maybe). But with all his wealth and leisure, the greatest hurdle for the 4x MVP is, perhaps, his relationship with his father.

Over the years, Rodgers and his family have grown distant owing to disagreements and disputes. The most strained relationship of all for him, however, might be with his father. Rodgers and his father have never had the father-son bond that other great athletes like Patrick Mahomes and Steph Curry shared. But his father once revealed the extent of the great strain in their relationship. A strain that distanced the two for nearly a thousand days.

Aaron Rodgers has never been great at maintaining personal relationships in his life. For one reason or another, the QB has always faced trouble with maintaining stable relationships, from his history of failed love interests to his strained relationship with his family. But for Rodgers father, the pain of losing a son to distance and fame is even greater.

The QB’s father and his family had not spoken to their son in nearly a thousand days, as Aaron’s father, Ed Rodgers, said in 2017. Rodgers had been on radio silence with his family since 2014, all the way uptill 2017. “Fame can change things,” Ed said back in 2017, discussing his son’s absence from the family. While Rodgers did share a bond with his father during his childhood, ever since the QB rose to fame in the NFL, his relationship with his family has grown increasingly strained.

Is there still hope for reconciliation?

Aaron Rodgers has finally found a new life in the bright lights of New York City. As the saying goes, “A new day is a new beginning.”  The same might be the mantra for the QB with Super Bowl aspirations. Following his trade to the Jets, there might still be hope for Rodgers to reconcile with his family, after distancing himself from them more than a decade ago.

While Aaron has never been one to discuss the details of his personal matters, he has hinted at a possible reconciliation between him and his family in the past. While he prefers to deal with his problems in his own way, and behind closed doors, Rodgers once told podcast host Aubrey Marcus about the possibilities of a reunion with his family.

I believe in the possibility of reconciliation at some point, but it’s a different journey for all of us,” Rodgers said.

If Rodgers eventually finds it within his heart to make peace with his family, is a decision that only he can make. For now, football remains at the top of his priorities.
