NFL franchise Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson through his recent activity on social media might have incurred the wrath of some fans. As Watson prepares for the upcoming NFL campaign, upsetting more NFL fans might have been on the ‘Don’t’ list of things. But it might be the Falcons fans who would be the most upset, but not with Watson.

In a recent Instagram story, Watson was displaying his Browns jersey collection. But unfortunately, the Falcons fans did find a familiar jersey in the background of his photograph. It might have incurred some bad memories in the minds of the Falcons fans, who were among the few who failed to recruit Watson.
The failure to recruit him has meant fans have reservations against owner Arthur Blank and his plans for the franchise. While talking about the recruiting process during the recent NFL meetings, he states, “Explore is the key word. It wasn’t more than that, it wasn’t less than that. We had the interview, and that was the end of it.” Before the Browns’ offer, the Falcons were in some reports, the front-runners to land the Watson.
Despite having a no-trade clause with the Texans, the Falcons did fail to make an alluring presentation to Watson. While entering the 2022 NFL campaign, the Falcons will be counting on QB Marcus Mariota to be their leader. While going for Watson would have turned public opinion against them, it would have been a significant footballing decision.
NFL Twitter remains unforgiving towards Deshaun Watson
Conversely, the Falcons have been following the core set of their values under the ownership of Blank. The signing of Watson with his troubling past would have been comprising all that they have built. Some Falcons fans will also be happy with their franchise and might have dodged a major bullet with the uproar surrounding his comeback.
The NFL fans on Twitter have reservations about Watson and did turn up in numbers to voice their opinion on him and his slip-up. Fans were relentless, and Watson wouldn’t have enjoyed reading the tweets like some fans.

The Browns have got their man in Watson, but at the cost of losing some of their credibility. While some Browns fans will hope the team performs with some big performances, others might not be so keen. The 2022 NFL campaign is set for the Falcons and Browns to claw back some of their lost love among supporters.
