The Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is one of the biggest names in the National Football League. Today, he owns one of the most expensive football teams, which is valued at $6.5 Billion by Forbes in 2021. However, these materialistic things don’t seem to have affected his personality, humbleness, and love for the game. Recently, Jones shared a funny incident involving Hall of Famer Deion Sanders and explained how similar they are when it comes to prioritizing the family.
The 54-year-old veteran happens to be a Cowboys legend and played for the franchise from 1995 to 1999. Often referred to as coach prime, the Florida State alumnus won his second consecutive Super Bowl with the Cowboys in 1996 and impressed his owner Jerry Jones at first sight.

While speaking at the 21st and Prime talk show, Sanders revealed that among all the owners he played under in both NFL & MLB, Jones happens to be his favorite owner of all time.

He shared an instance from a few years ago when Sanders was short of Super Bowl tickets and went to Jones’ place asking for more. ” I went to his suite. And I didn’t see the owner, Jerry Jones. I didn’t see the Billionaire being there. I saw granddad and father in shorts, playing with the grandkids and having a great time,” he recalled. Moreover, he affirmed that no teammate or player has ever spoken anything negative about Jones.

Reacting to Sanders’ remarks, the Cowboys owner recalled meeting the baseball outfielder for the first time. “The very first time we met face to face. Now, when Deion wasn’t a cowboy… And I said, You have got to keep it a Dallas Cowboy, and that was over a national broadcast.” Jones said on the show.

“I was sitting there looking at it, but I finally did come the time to get see. And I said, where is he? they said, Well, he’s down in the locker room. And nobody was there, and the stadium was empty of fans. I go down there. And there Deoin was with his little boy, kind of the same kind of story. He spent, what he did was around that locker room playing with a kid.” Jones went on to narrate the story.

Sanders’s entry into the NFL happened with the San Francisco 49ers in 1994. He became the only athlete to register a reception and an interception in the Super Bowl. After winning a Super Bowl for the franchise, he donned the Cowboys jersey the next season and made an impact as one of the greatest defensive players in the league.
