When Denver Broncos got in QB Russell Wilson before the start of the season, fans had a lot of hope for the Orange Nation. Mercedes F1 star, Lewis Hamilton, had similar hopes from the franchise when he decided to become a part owner in August 2022. Things have not gone quite right for the Broncos, though.
Lewis Hamilton got a warm reception but fans were embarrassed
Lewis Hamilton joined in the ownership of the Denver Broncos as part of an investment with the Walter-Penner group. The Broncos had brand new owners. They also got Super Bowl-winning quarterback Russell Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks. Things were looking good until the season started. DangerRuss got a reality check from his former team when the Seahawks beat the Broncos 17-16 in the opening week.
Sir Lewis arrived in Denver to support his Broncos in their Week 6 matchup with the LA Chargers. Broncos Nation lost the game 19-16 in overtime and fans were ashamed for Denver’s performance in front of their 7x F1 World Champion owner. “I’m sorry all of us have had to watch these [Broncos]. He should’ve bought into the [Avalanche] or the [Nuggets],” one fan wrote while another commented, “I’m sure the ownership is loving another 16 pt game.”

The Denver Broncos rank last in the league in points per game with 14.6 PPG. Fans thought DangerRuss will take them to the Super Bowl like John Elway and Peyton Manning before. However, the QB has only 7 touchdowns this season with 5 interceptions after Week 10 of this NFL season.
Can Russ give at least one championship to Sir Lewis this year?
With rival Red Bull racer Max Verstappen already having secured the F1 Championship this year, Lewis’ only hope for a world title is the Super Bowl with Denver. Some fans thought Sir Hamilton will do a better job as their quarterback. “I’d be alright with him playing QB. He does know how to win,” one fan wrote. Another begged, “Sir Lewis please teach them how to win.”
