On Monday, the Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott was examined. The results showed that he had sprained his right knee (MCL). The news came after the Cowboys’ victory on Sunday over the Detroit Lions. It is a piece of deplorable news for the Cowboys fans. According to Physicians, the injury is a Grade 2 Sprain. It means there is a moderate sprain with an MCL rupture. Additionally, the thigh is damaged as well.

In the last season, the running back sustained a partially ruptured posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. This prevented him from playing in the last season. However, he played all the games wearing a brace at the end of the season. But people were especially worried this time.

People assumed the worst when Elliott hurt his leg in the second quarter of the Detroit Lions game. It appeared to be a crippling hit. According to a person with knowledge of the incident, Elliott’s injury would have been significantly worse if his foot had remained on the ground. Elliott came back into the game and finished with 57 yards and two scores on 15 carries. Elliott finished the second half with 29 yards and two touchdowns after suffering the injury.

Elliott was out of practice on Wednesday. This was informed by the head coach of the team. The team instead focused on his recovery in the background. Also, Dallas attempted to balance the three-time Prow Bowl’s workload for the rest of the week.

The Dallas Cowboys have a bye after the Bears game. This will allow Elliott a two-week layoff. But the HC of the team, Mike McCarthy, made it clear that the bye-week will not have any effect on future decisions.
