Ex-Patriots’ Safety Malik Gant Who Breathed His Last on May 25, Left This Beautiful Planet Just Hours Before a Special Day

Former New England Patriots defensive back, Malik Gant lost his precious life in Miami on May 25, 2023. The sudden demise at a young age came as a shock for many. Gant’s family requested the media to remain watchful and respect their privacy and their emotions. Even though an official inquiry is ongoing, the question of why his death news was announced three weeks after his demise was waiting for answers.

Young Gant breathed his last, mere days before his birthday, and it would have been wonderful had he lived many more years on this Earth. On May 29, the young star would have turned 26, but it was not meant to be, as tragedy stuck before he could touch that milestone.

“Malik was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many with his kindness, charisma, and unwavering spirit,” noted his death statement. Meanwhile, the family members affirmed Gant shall be remembered forever – as a loving son, a cherished brother, a devoted grandson, and a dear friend.

The former Patriots star toiled his blood and sweat in the beginning and was named to the preseason USA All-Conference team. This was prior to the start of his junior year, and it gave a huge impetus to his initial career. Afterward, he suffered a jolt, during the 2019 NFL Draft, when he received no takers.

However, as luck found a way, he was picked up by the Patriots before the regular season. Notably, he missed the entire rookie season after he was placed on an Injured Reserve in August. The most unfortunate news broke the following July, when Gant was cut by the Patriots.

Chicago Bears DE Gaines Adams, who breathed his last when he was 26, in 2010 was one of the promising names who lost his life at a young age. The horrible plight of players losing their life before their careers take the limelight is a tragic sight for any football supporter.
