Deion Sanders has made headlines throughout the NFL offseason. Not for anything related to the NFL, but instead for his endeavours with the Colorado Buffaloes. Sanders retired from the NFL in 2005, and has since taken up many roles, ending in his current position as the Head Coach of the Colorado Buffaloes. But even after decades of success with the sport, even Deion Sanders took to Twitter to share a vulnerable truth with fans.

After signing with the Buffaloes for over $29 Million at the end of last season, Sanders has been heavily involved in the rapidly changing NCAA CFB landscape. From creating mayhem in the transfer portal to moving away from the Pac 12 conference, Sanders has been at the center of it all. But days after reports of his dramatic foot injury flare up, Coach Prime had to let out his emotions by penning them out for his fans.

Despite the alarming prognosis, he responded to the news with characteristic determination and resilience. He encouraged his followers to take charge of their narratives, shape their destinies, and achieve their goals. By adopting a “Why not?” attitude, Sanders is challenging himself and his followers to defy the odds and overcome adversity. But this obviously isn’t the first time that the 2-time Super Bowl champion has faced adversity in his life.

Sanders has seen a lot of ups and downs throughout his life. But none, perhaps, match the severe medical condition that he faced last year. Due to blood clots in his leg, Sanders had to undergo major surgery, which was even labelled life-threatening by doctors. At the risk of losing his life or a limb, Sander would eventually lose 2 toes in his foot by amputation.

Since then, the 55-year-old HC has been dedicated to his coaching career with the Buffaloes. But after recent complications from the surgery arose, Sanders once again runs the harrowing risk of facing his own mortality. If further complications were to arise, Coach Prime’s medical team believes that the increasing pain might lead to the amputation of his entire leg to save his life. Dramatic as it is, Sanders is certainly a warrior and one who doesn’t know the meaning of giving up, as he addressed in his own tweet.
