The President of the NFLPA has brought up one of the key concerns of the players on the Pat McAfee show. The insurance policy for the players has been an issue that the players have been bargaining for a while now. And with the addition of the new Executive Director, Lloyd Howell, the NFLPA will hope for changes to the current insurance policy.

JC Tretter shed some light on what could and could not happen after one of the most successful seasons for the NFL in terms of revenue. The latest records show the revenue of the NFL to be at a staggering $18 Billion in 2022. Tretter will hope some of the revenue is directed towards the insurance for players.

McAfee says, “I assume every X player that was asked, he just said Lifetime Insurance is all we care about. Yeah is that what is that all they said in his Lloyd pitched a vision for that or is that a topic of discussion for the NFL PA.” The former Punter addresses the fact that no one will be in the NFL forever. He says, “Because every player in the NFL is going to be a retired player at some point. But not every player in the NFL is going to be a part of the NFL PA forever.”

Although McAfee is one who does not seek lifetime insurance for himself, he has friends who could use the benefits of lifetime insurance. Pat McAfee says, “I got a lot of friends that you know I think it would help out immensely.” Although both Tretter and McAfee are rooting for lifetime insurance, they will have to rely on the incoming director to make a step in that direction.

Howell has held the role of a CFO and a treasurer in the Leadership across GE Healthcare and Moody’s Corporation. With Lloyd’s experience in Healthcare, JC Tretter believes he has something to offer. In the conversation with McAfee, Tretter says, “I think Lloyd has some interesting thoughts on Health Care in general. He sits on the board of GE Healthcare um so he has background in that… he has understanding of that, he has Connections in in the Healthcare Community. So that’s kind of a neat wrinkle.”
