This offseason was an incredibly exciting one. There were multiple league breaking trades that have changed the power dynamics completely. And one of them was undoubtedly the trade that put Aaron Rodgers at the helm of the New York Jets. After playing for almost two decades with the Packers, Rodgers has finally made his move to the Big Apple. Furthermore, Rodgers’ future with the Jets is looking brighter every passing day. He has already earned a lot of trust from his future coach.
The head coach of the Jets recently made a telephonic appearance on the Rich Eisen Show. He spoke about the kind of trust he has for Rodgers’ judgement. His trust came after he denied the existence of a supposed infamous wishlist that Rodgers had for him.

The head coach of the New York Jets, Robert Saleh took to the show to talk about how he was excited for the opportunity to coach someone like Rodgers. While he was on the show, he mentioned how he had a lot of faith in the opinion of a veteran quarterback like Rodgers.
While denying the existence of the list, Saleh went on to speak about how futile it would be to not take Rodgers’ suggestion seriously. He said, “I don’t know. I mean it’s I think it’d be kind of silly if your Hall of Fame quarterback has a comfort level with somebody and you don’t answer that bell. You know just, I think it’s counterproductive to what you’re trying to get done.”
Furthermore, while he was adamantly denying the existence of an actual wishlist, the kind of players they’ve added to their roster seem very adjacent to Rodgers’ playing style. Even a member of the coaching staff has been closely connected to the Rodgers in the past.

The infamous Aaron Rodgers Wishlist
While Saleh denies the existence of a wishlist from Rodgers that was fulfilled, the Jets actions this off season indicate differently. Apart from Rodgers, the Jets also traded for a bunch of players from the Green Bay Packers. The Jets traded for wide recievers Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb, quarterback Tim Boyle and offensive lineman Billy Turner. Furthermore, the Jets have even employed Nathaniel Hackett as their offensive co-ordinator. Notably, Hackett worked closely with Rodgers and the other Packers’ players when he was the OC of the Packers from 2019 to 2021.
While everyone has been speaking about the infamous wishlist, Saleh denied its attention over and over again. However, the Jets’ actions might indicate differently. It only remains to be seen how the team they’ve built will help Rodgers in the 2023 season.
