Even Rob Gronkowski has pet peeves! Can you believe what annoys this Patriots legend the most?

Alright, picture this: you walk into a house where kids are barely old enough to tie their shoes and are already training like they’re prepping for the NFL Combine. That was the Gronkowski household in Amherst for you—home of one of the most athletic families on the planet. Five brothers, all beasts in their fields. And now, Chris Gronkowski, the third Gronk, sat down for an all-exclusive EssentiallySports interview on The Dual Threat Show with Brandon Guttman II. He shared with us a little something about his brother and Patriots legend Rob Gronkowski—his pet peeve and one thing he loves about him. But the pet peeve, let us tell you, is the “tough part.”

So, Chris Gronkowski took us through the Gronk lineup from oldest to youngest, like he’s rattling off plays from a huddle. When he finally hit Rob’s name, he didn’t hesitate. “The pet peeve with him is, you literally can’t go anywhere with him,” Chris said. “People nonstop come up, and you get absolutely nothing done.” Imagine trying to grab a coffee with Gronk, only to be bombarded by fans. It’s like running a no-huddle offense—everything’s fast-paced, and there’s no time to breathe. Chris, who’s had his own time on the field with the Cowboys, Colts, Chargers, and Broncos, gets it. But Rob’s fame? Different ballgame.

Now, Rob wasn’t just any player—he was the tight end every defense had nightmares about. Playing 11 seasons in the NFL, nine of them with the Patriots, he earned four rings. All, yes, ALL the four while catching passes from the GOAT himself, Tom Brady. You’d expect paparazzi to be on speed dial every time he stepped out. But despite the fame and the bags of cash that came with it, Rob never let it change him. Chris reminisced about Rob’s early years, saying, “He’s just never changed… Money never really changed him.”

Chris even dropped a story that makes you think twice. He remembered visiting Rob during his sixth year in New England. Rob was still bringing home food from the team complex like he was saving up for a rainy day. “We didn’t have money growing up. Like, we grinded it out. We always worked for everything we had and it really never changed.” Chris told us. But even after Rob got paid? That grind mentality never left! Imagine, a guy with millions in the bank, still living like he’s got a rookie paycheck. That’s next-level discipline, right?

Just to put it in perspective, Rob’s net worth in 2024 is $45 million, and he’s earned over $70 million in his NFL career. Yet, despite all the fame and fortune, he’s still the same guy who’ll snag extra food from the facility to save a buck. Chris puts it immaculately during the interview, saying, “That’s next level right there.” We agree with you, sir.

But hang tight folks, because there’s more to this Gronk story from the EssentiallySports Exclusive. Chris Gronkowski had plenty to say about the rest of his brothers too, and let’s just say, his pet peeve with ‘Goose’ is hilarious.

Have an interesting take?

Chris Gronkowski and Glenn look similar?

Glenn ‘Goose’ Gronkowski is the youngest of the five. How young? The difference between the eldest, Gordie, and him is exactly of a decade. That’s a generation gap right there. He’s even six years younger than Chris. But despite this, the 37-year-old former fullback told us that he loves Goose’ discipline.

“Glenn, man, this kid’s super organized,” Chris shared. “Always putting the work in… he’s going to make sure it’s done right every time.” Goose handles investments and taxes like a pro. But that’s not it! While Chris loves his youngest brother’s organization, here’s where things get funnier. People confusing him and goose! Yes, you read that right. Chris said, “Like, no matter what, everyone’s like, ‘Hey, you went to K-State, right?’ And I’m like, ‘No, that’s my brother, Glenn. He just looks like me.'”

Glenn Gronkowski, once hailed as “the most athletic” Gronk brother, played just one NFL game due to size limitations, unlike his towering brother Rob. Standing at 6-foot-3, Glenn was undersized for a tight end and found a brief role as a fullback with the Buffalo Bills, earning a Super Bowl ring with the Patriots despite his short stint. Glenn is one of four Gronkowski brothers to choose the gridiron dream. Leaving the eldest, Gordie Jr., as an odd one out, to swing his bat on the diamond. Well, to each its own! In the end, all five are doing great for themselves and that’s what is important.
