The Los Angeles Chargers and the Jacksonville Jaguars went against each other in a Wild Card Round. Even though the Chargers maintained a 27-0 lead throughout the game, the Jaguars could break their streak and dominate them. Their loss edged them out of the playoffs. During the game, LA linebacker Joey Bosa was hit with a fine of $55,456 for his unprofessional conduct.

Bosa received fines of $29,785 and $13,261, respectively, for his statements in addition to an added $12,500. Although it is not the biggest fine in the history of the NFL, it still is a large amount of money. Therefore, this news angered many fans on Twitter. Fans were highly against such high amounts of fines as punishment.

When Jacksonville was in the middle of their comeback, referees charged the 27-year-old with two unsportsmanlike penalties. The second one came when he threw his helmet on the field. It was in reaction to what he believed was a missed false start. Bosa cleared that his penalties came because of the competitive environment and because of the injuries he suffered in Week 3 against the Jaguars.

Although the LB took accountability for his actions, he was quick to speak against the officials as well. “I mean, if I say something to them, I get a $40,000 fine. But if they blow a call that ruins an entire team’s season, they get to … They’ll probably be back in the locker room after the game like, ‘Haha, got that a*shole. Oh yeah, got him 15 yards. What a loser. Fifteen yards. What a loser.’ I guarantee you that’s what they’re (expletive) talking back in the back. Whatever. Power trip. I’m sick of those (expletive) people.” he said as per FOX News.
