‘Emotions Can Get High With People’: 49ers HC Kyle Shanahan Reveals How He’s Dealing With Deebo Samuel Contract Crisis

The situation of Deebo Samuel in San Francisco is getting complicated. Last week, the WR handed in a trade request, as he wanted to play somewhere else. He claimed that he would rather play at a place where he would be used as a traditional WR. Last season Deebo was used as a dual-threat by the 49ers.

There are multiple teams that want to acquire the services of Deebo Samuel. However, the San Francisco 49er hasn’t found a good offer for him yet. The franchise is looking for an offer that would be helpful for both parties.

There was a high possibility of Deebo getting traded on the Draft day, as other teams would have offered good assets to the 49ers for the WR. Surprisingly, the 49ers rejected every offer that came their way. The head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, Kyle Shanahan, gave a brief inside on the situation of Deebo at the 49ers.

For Kyle Shanahan none of the offers were close to expectations

Kyle Shanahan cleared out the air regarding the trade offers for Deebo Samuel. He said, “You’ll consider anything. You have a responsibility to help your organization the most you can.”

Shanahan believes that losing a player like Deebo Samuel won’t be good for the 49ers. He claimed that only patience will be able to reward both parties with the best solution. Unsurprisingly, the 49ers are looking for a good trade package for their star WR.

Kyle further said, “I think we know him pretty well. He knows us pretty well. And things haven’t been the best over the last couple of months through outside perception. But I see that happen a lot in this league, especially in contract situations.

“So, you try not to overreact one way or the other on it. You try to be patient with it because emotions can get high with people, especially when you care about people and a lot is riding on it.”

Kyle Shanahan left surprised by the demand of Deebo Samuel

Kyle Shanahan claimed that he was ‘surprised’ by the amount of interest in Deebo. A player of Deebo’s caliber was bound to attract interest from almost every team. However, the 49ers are looking for the right offer and would like to tread carefully.

The San Francisco 49ers were offered the 10th overall pick for this year’s draft, along with a pick swap by the New York Jets for the services of Deebo Samuel. Surprisingly, the 49ers rejected that offer as well. It will be very interesting to see what the ‘right offer’ will be for the 49ers to trade away their talented receiver Deebo Samuel.
