And that was kind of like where I overcome my fears the most in my life,” he added that he tried to see his situation as an opportunity for growth, rather than dwelling on what happened. “You know, try to look at it as adversity and not so much getting caught up in what happened.” He said he wanted to grow from it, not own it. Hamlin spoke at the CNBC CEO event on Tuesday, where he received a standing ovation for his inspiring story.

On January 2, 2023, tragedy struck as Hamlin suffered the incident. Miraculously, Hamlin showed remarkable improvement and remained neurologically intact, leading to his discharge from the hospital. The journey continued as Hamlin made his first visit to the Bills‘ practice facility since his collapse, reuniting with his coaches and teammates. Expressing deep gratitude, he thanked them for their unwavering support throughout the ordeal.

In February, Hamlin is honored at the NFL Honors ceremony along with the first responders and doctors who saved his life. He receives a standing ovation from the audience and delivers a heartfelt speech about his recovery. Hamlin attends the Super Bowl as a guest of honor. He meets with other NFL stars and celebrities and enjoys the game. He also receives a tribute video from the Bills and Bengals players who were on the field when he collapsed.
