The contract dilemma between Baltimore Ravens and their 2019 MVP QB Lamar Jackson still continues. The long ongoing standoff between the player and the franchise does not seem to be reaching a common point of understanding in terms of negotiations. The Ravens had placed their non-exclusive franchise tag on the QB earlier. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, while the Ravens have come up to offer a contract with $200 million guaranteed and $133 million guaranteed on a short-term deal, it still does not seem to satisfy the needs of the 26-year-old quarterback.

While the franchise tries to find a way to retain the services of Jackson, Twitter’s CEO Elon Musk has done his part in solving an issue that even his QB counterpart 2X Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes had faced.

After Twitter’s CEO Elon Musk had begun a mission to remove the verification from accounts of people who had not paid for the $8 dollar subscription model, a lot of prominent footballers also lost their blue tick on the social media site. But one player, who was able to retain his verification despite not signing up for the subscription, was Lamar Jackson. Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown tweeted questioning whether the 2019 MVP QB had bought the blue check to remain verified.

Jackson retweeted the post, stating that he did not do such a thing to keep his account verified. He said, “Neff I woke up and it was there broski😂Guess my face Gate with Elon”. Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes had also lost his verification, calling out Musk to return his blue tick back. And guess it worked for Mahomes, as he got his verification back on his profile.

While the issue of verification might have been solved easily by Elon Musk for Jackson, his future in the NFL, however, has not seen such a simple solution to this date.

After Lamar Jackson was non-exclusive franchise tagged by the Ravens, he was allowed to test out the trade waters and engage with others to see if they were potentially interested in acquiring the QB. But no team had come up to show their interest in Watson, leading to doubts looming over the QBs future in the league. The Ravens have, however, gone on to retain their other Pro Bowl QB Tyler Huntley recently, making the situation with Jackson even more unclear.

Recently, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler has hinted that the 2023 NFL Draft might pave the way for Jackson’s future in the league. He is of the belief that if a team misses out on drafting a QB in the draft, then they might steer toward the direction of acquiring Jackson.
