RB Peyton Hillis is currently in a critical state in the intensive care unit in Florida. The former NFL athlete performed a heroic deed after saving some kids from potentially drowning. But the incident landed him in the hospital.

Peyton Hillis is one of the premier NFL running backs with a journeyman-type career in the league. However, Hillis’ 2010 season in Cleveland was the reason for his fame. He gave one of the finest performances of his career. As a result of his efforts, the running back became the cover star for EA Sports’ Madden 12 video game.

Peyton Hillis is in critical condition after saving kids

The former Cleveland Browns star was reportedly injured in a swimming accident in Pensacola, Florida, while saving his children from drowning in the ocean. To save the kids, Peyton Hillis dove in the ocean to rescue them. The kids are safe and secure, but the athlete got hurt in the process. As per the Daily Mail, the athlete had to be airlifted to a medical center. He is currently in the ICU and undergoing treatment for his lungs and kidneys.

Hillis had a 12-year NFL career that included stops with the Denver Broncos, Cleveland Browns, New York Giants, and Kansas City Chiefs. His blocking ability and ability in short-yardage circumstances were some of his most notable qualities. The RB stepped down in 2015 at the plea of his doctor because of his history of concussions.

Peyton Hillis remains in critical condition in the hospital. But Alyssa Orange shared a screenshot from one of Hillis’ family members, Greg Hillis. The update revealed the RB is still dealing with significant issues. However, there have been advancements.

The statement mentioned, “I just wanted to let everyone know on Razorback Nation that Peyton is doing better. He’s still in intensive care and having some problems with his kidneys and his lungs but doctors say he is improving. I just wanted to head off any rumors that may be started. I’m sure he would want everyone to know that he appreciates all of the prayers being thrown up on his behalf!!!”
