Odell Beckham Jr. has always enjoyed a ton of appreciation from the NFL community. Even though injuries have sidelined the former New York Giants legend, teams would still sign the man in a heartbeat. Beckham has not played a single game in 2022, mostly due to a torn ACL sustained in the previous year. His injury prompted the Las Angeles Rams to release Beckham from their ranks, officially deeming him a free agent. However, there is a new contender in the scene for the race to sign the WR.

OBJ was still in talks with teams such as Buffalo Bills and Dallas Cowboys, but their talks reached no tangible conclusion. After days of being away from the game, OBJ intends to make his inevitable return to the big stage and he has the perfect strategy for it. Beckham held an open workout this Friday in Arizona, and top franchise representatives were in attendance, including the Kansas City Chiefs.

According to NFL Insider, Jonathan Jones, “Teams represented at Odell Beckham Jr.’s private workout in Arizona today included the Panthers, Giants, Patriots, Rams, Cardinals, 49ers, Bills, Chiefs, Vikings, Browns, and Ravens, per source“.

The Kansas City Chiefs taking a close peek at Odell Beckham Jr. was the most surprising aspect of this entire workout. Obviously, the Chiefs intend to keep building and striving forward, but they just won the Super Bowl.

And besides, who would they replace Odell Beckham Jr. with? The only player emulating the same star power and radiant energy from the Kansas roster would be their Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes.

But fortunately for the Chiefs, OBJ and Mahomes play different positions, so maybe they could be accommodated together. Odell Beckham Jr. had been linked to the Chiefs in the past as well, mostly because NFL pundits felt Kansas to be the ideal destination for OBJ.

With Pat Mahomes’ exemplary command on the field, and OBJ’s innate talents and athleticism, the Chiefs might be on their way to pulling off another Super Bowl campaign, if the deal indeed goes through.

Is OBJ back?

All of Odell Beckham Jr.’s previous interactions with teams fell apart due to his health being a major concern. But now that OBJ is hellbent on reminding the NFL world of his worth, how long will he remain a free agent?
