The 41-year-old Giants quarterback hung his cleats after the 2019 season and went on to make a career in Television. In a recent interaction with a media company, Manning revealed why he chose this field above coaching and other jobs post-retirement.

The two-time Super Bowl champions played for 16 seasons in the NFL alongside the New York Jets. Despite having a successful career in the league and announcing his retirement, he never intended to sit idle but stay connected to the sport with minimal effort.
And certainly, broadcasting was the job that caught his attention and an opportunity to make fun of his brother watching the games. “I could sit on my couch, watch Football games with my brother, and just make fun of him…that was appealing to me,” he said to the reporters.

Eli Manning comes from a family of football players where his father, Archie Manning, was himself a quarterback. His older brother Peyton Manning, a hall of fame signal caller and thus left him no choice, other than to pursue the sport. Manning was the first overall pick by the San Diego Chargers in 2014; however, he was traded to the Giants during the draft.
Only a few quarterbacks get to play with the same team for their entire career, and Eli Manning was fortunate enough to complete his journey with the Giants.

Just like his brother, the hall of Famer is a pure entertainer. Not just on the field, the veteran also proved his worth as a great commentator, calling games and analyzing them pretty well.

“It is kind of like you are watching the game at a bar, and me and Eli show up and watch the game with you,” Manning said about the MNF. “[That] is kind of the theme. We are not going to be in a booth. With my forehead and my neck, I couldn’t fit in a booth. I can fit on my couch at home and Eli can be on his couch,” he added.

Currently, Peyton Manning is busy working with his former team Denver Broncos. The veteran is grooming Russell Wilson, who is set to play in his first NFL season with the Broncos.
