Eli Manning is a legend at the Big Apple. Winning two Super Bowls with the New York Giants, Manning has firmly established himself in the Giants’ folklore.

The Giants were always head over heels for the quarterback. After all, how can one forget the lengths they went to trade the quarterback after failing to land him in the 2004 NFL Draft.

But ever since his retirement after the 2019 season, Manning has kept a fair distance from the franchise. All that though is now set to change with Eli Manning joining the side’s front office to help with their business operations and fan engagement.

Talking to the Giants’ official website, Manning said that after a year-long hiatus he is glad to be back where he belongs.

Unlike other NFL players of the past, Manning will keep a safe distance from the field. Instead, his new role will see him more invested in the business aspect of things.

“I wanted to be back here with the organization,” Manning said“I had a little break; I think both sides needed a little parting. But I’m excited to team back up with the Giants. Help out in any way they feel they need it. Most of it will be on the business side and be with the sponsors and marketing and corporate stuff and the community service, which has been so important to me.”

Talking about his time away from the spotlight, Manning said he used the past year to reflect on his time away from football.

“I think I was just ready,” Manning said. “I was ready to be done, I was ready to be retired… But I was at peace with my decision when I decided to retire. That I was ready to be done playing football.”

Now glad to be a Giants fan, Manning said he’ll continue to do so as he did through the course of the 2020 NFL season.

“I am a Giants fan. So I watched every game, rooted for them every game, pulled for them. I’ll continue to do that.”
