Named after NFL legend, John Madden, the video game has been one of the most popular football games to be played. Interestingly, it has also been a huge source of revenue for the NFL. And one of the things that a lot of NFL athletes look forward to is who makes it to the cover of the game. This year, there have been rumors that it might just be Josh Allen.

The news went viral on Twitter that claimed that there is a chance that Allen might make it to the cover of the video game. This went on to cause an uproar on Twitter. Interestingly, the previous members of the cover have been a lot a little more accomplished as compared to the Buffalo Bills QB.

The cover of Madden has housed some of the most prestigious athletes and figures of the sport in the past. There have been players like Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, and Rob Gronkowski, all former Super Bowl champions and huge impact players in the sport. Last year’s cover also had the late John Madden on the cover. Amidst such popular and influential figures, the presence of Allen might seem a bit odd.

While Allen has consistently been one of the top QBs of his time, he has yet to prove himself in terms of accolades like Super Bowls and MVPs. Therefore, it would make sense as to why the rumors of him being on the cover would be controversial.

After the news went viral, fans took to Twitter to react to the news. They did not have a very positive response.

Fans express their dislike for the potential of Allen on Madden

After the rumors hit the Internet, fans did not seem very impressed or happy. They took to Twitter to make it clear that they did not approve of even the rumor of him being on the Madden cover. One fan went on to say how overrated he was and said, “Dude overrated.”

Another fan mentioned how he doesn’t deserve it at all and said, “Wtf did he even do to deserve this. He threw like 13 int and almost got bounced in the first round by a backup QB named Skylar THOMPSON. JJettas the real cover athlete. This is disrespect.”

Furthermore, another fan spoke about how he is famous for turnovers and said, “Turn into a turnover machine. Get the cover. Just glad it wasn’t Hurts which would have been chalk.”

There were some suggestions on who should be there that said, “L should have been kelce bros.”

Finally, one fan mentioned how this edition of Madden is not going to be good and said, “Another trash madden incoming.”

All in all, fans were not very happy with Allen potentially becoming one of the select few greats who feature on the Madden cover.

Even though the fans aren’t keen on seeing Allen on the cover, these are still rumors. Only time will tell who will feature on the 2024 Madden cover.
