Aaron Rodgers is parting ways with the Green Bay Packers for a new challenge on the east coast. The New York Jets have got their man after some dragged-out negotiations that went on forever. But he might not be the only one who would leave the organization after this point. According to a former Jet, another person in the green and gold brigade might have to look elsewhere after his ’15 minutes of fame’.

The Packers GM Brian Gutekunst has been the general manager for the Packers since 2018. He has let Rodgers exit the organization amicably in a trade. But according to Brandon Marshall, he himself might not get the same courtesy in the near future. Why does Marshall think that Gutekunst’s job is on the line?

Former Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall feels that Brian Gutekunst’s days as the Packers GM are numbered. Marshall said that it was Gutekunst who started the Packers’ downward spiral with an incident involving Aaron Rodgers and Jordan Love. According to the former WR, everybody can talk about the Jets or Rodgers, but this might be it for Gutekunst in Wisconsin.

“We can talk all we want about Aaron Rodgers, we can talk all we want about the New York Jets. But let’s also make sure we give Brian Gutekunst his 15 mins of fame, because this might be it for him,” Marshall said on ‘I AM ATHLETE’ podcast.

According to the former WR, it all started when Gutekunst drafted Love for the Packers. By doing so, he not only wasted three good years of Love’s career but also sowed the seeds of mistrust between the organization and its QB1. That, for Marshall, was the worst decision Gutekunst made.

Now that Rodgers is going away, the legendary QB posted a heartfelt goodbye message. And he didn’t forget to thank Gutekunst while he was at it.

Aaron Rodgers thanks the GM

After his trade to the Jets was done, Aaron Rodgers posted a heartfelt note for everyone associated with the Packers. From the fans to the PR guy, he named them all. GM Brian Gutekunst also found his way into the QB’s thank you note.

Rodgers thanked Gutekunst along with CEO Mark Murphy and DFO Russ Ball for their stewardship of the organization. A-Rod came into the organization in 2005 as a young draft pick and is leaving as a legend of the franchise. And even though Brandon Marshall felt that Gutekunst wronged Rodgers, it looks like the future Hall of Famer is okay with the current situation.
