Tom Brady was drafted at 199th position in the 2000 draft. Six quarterbacks were drafted before him, this is the story of Marc Bulger. One of those six quarterbacks. Bulger was part of two historic stories actually, the Brady Six as well as the ‘Post-Show’ to the Greatest Show on Turf by the 1999 Rams. In 2000, Marc Bulger was drafted by the Rams over Tom Brady.

And even though he made it to 2 Pro Bowls and had a 10-year-long career in the NFL, his name has forever been associated with his draft position. And who came after him. Today, Bulger plays an entirely different sport. How much of that was Brady’s doing and how much was Bulger inclined to try something new?

Bulger was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania into an athletically inclined family. His big man was a quarterback himself and played for Notre Dame. One of his sisters, Kate got drafted in the WNBA, and Meg Bulger, his youngest sister was a guard, and a good one at that, for West Virginia.

He was self admittedly the most athletic of them all because he played multiple sports. So safe to say, athleticism and sportsperson-ship were always part of his constitution. After playing at all levels in high school and college, Bulger made his way to the NFL. Very few people get the chance to realize that dream and Bulger did not just get there, he also proved himself worthy by making it to the Pro Bowl, twice.

And after 10 years of playing in the NFL, he decided that it was time to move on. But the sporting spirit was far from over. So Bulger picked up a game that was completely opposite to football. Curling. It is a fascinating sport that is not wildly popular in the mainstream but draws a lot of attention from loyal spectators.
What is Curling, the sport Marc Bulger took up?
Curling is also called, “Chess On Ice.” It is a rather slower game and requires much more precision and patience. Bulger got involved in the latter part of his NFL career and has since taken up the sport with all seriousness.

He even tried to reach the Olympics in curling and represent America. His former NFL teammates and players combined to make a team of four and try out for the biggest sporting extravaganza.

Bulger is still fully involved with Curling and has basically started the game in Nashville as well. He is propagating and popularizing the sport all over America. And his fame from the NFL only helps ease out the processes in a lot of places.
