The NFL 2021 Draft is scheduled to be held 2 months down the line in April. This year’s Draft will be held between April 29th-May 1st in Cleveland.

There are several exciting young prospects that will be on display this year, including the likes of De’Vonta Smith, Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields, and even BYU quarterback Zach Wilson.

Cougars superstar Zach Wilson started 12 games in 2020. He completed 247 of 336 passes for 3,692 yards, 33 touchdowns against just 3 interceptions. BYU coach Kalani Sitake insists that Wilson will be a man in demand when the 2021 NFL Draft comes around.

Which NFL team will draft BYU product Zach Wilson in 2021?

Brigham Young University Cougars HC Kalani Sitake gave an interview addressing all the Zach Wilson rumors earlier this week.

He said, “Draft him, and find out. I recruited him, and I recruited him late, and it’s one of the best decisions I ever made…I’m excited to see where the next stop’ll be for him, because I think he’ll do really, really well there. On a football field, he’s a guy that could easily be a coach right now.

“You want a guy to be highly competitive, but not a lot of people are willing to sacrifice and put in the time to prepare like he is. Imagine a player who loves the game of football and when I’m working late nights, he’s here as well.

“And then when I’m watching film, he’ll come in and watch film with the coaching staff and hang out. He lives for ball, that’s what he does, and he’s a great student of the game, and his work ethic’s unbelievable, and his teammates love him,” Sitake told the NY Post.

Wilson is reportedly going up against Justin Fields for the 2nd overall draft position this year. The Robert Saleh-coached New York Jets own the 2nd pick this year and are weighing up their options at quarterback right now.

Another theory suggests that Wilson could end up with the Houston Texans if they trade Deshaun Watson to the Miami Dolphins and acquire the 3rd overall pick in exchange.

The Atlanta Falcons might also trade up to draft the BYU man this summer. Regardless, it will be interesting to see how this saga pans out.
