The Lamar Jackson saga has had its twists and turns. The Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh has had a consistent stance along with the franchise owner Steve Bisciotti. But it looks like the team’s general manager has had enough of the drama. It seems he is desperate to have a QB for the team as soon as possible. Eric DeCosta made drafting a QB a very real possibility amid the Jackson debacle.
The Ravens QB has already requested a trade away from the franchise after failing to reach a contract agreement with them. And the GM’s latest comments make it seem like the saga is at a point of no return.

Are the Ravens looking at a QB to draft?
The Ravens may look at a QB to draft when the 2023 NFL Draft rolls around in a few weeks. According to the franchise GM Eric DeCosta, there are more than four good QBs in this year’s draft class.
“I don’t want to insult anybody in the draft, but I would say there’s probably more than four guys that can be significant quarterbacks in this league in this draft class,” DeCosta said in a press conference.

The four biggest QB prospects this year are Alabama’s Bryce Young, Kentucky’s Will Levis, CJ Stroud from Ohio State, and Anthony Richardson from Florida. DeCosta, though, is of the opinion that there are other QBs who are equally as good. He even hinted at drafting a QB using the franchise’s 22nd overall pick.
“I would have to say yes, considering we have quarterbacks in our top 31,” DeCosta added.

That surely spells doom on any hopes of the Ravens fans of getting to see Lamar Jackson back in the franchise colors. The QB has spearheaded the Ravens’ offense for the last half-a-decade. But he has fallen out with the franchise in the last few months. His head coach still believes in him though.

The coach speaks on Lamar Jackson
Decosta may be on the draft bandwagon, but John Harbaugh hasn’t boarded it yet. The Ravens’ head coach still believes in Lamar Jackson as the QB for the future. When Jackson broke his trade request news on Twitter, Harbaugh answered multiple questions on the matter. And in no reply did he indicate that he was ready to give up just yet.

Harbaugh said that the issue was monetary, and could be resolved anytime. “Lamar believes in us and we believe in Lamar,” Harbaugh had said that day. So, he harbors hope. But maybe others at the organization are already preparing for a future without their star QB.
