Daniel Jones-led New York Giants won the final game of their regular season. The Joe Judge-coached team registered a 23-19 win against NFC East opponents Dallas Cowboys on the weekend. They needed the Philadelphia Eagles to defeat Washington Football Team in order to clinch the NFC East crown. But we all know how that story concluded.
New York Giants coach Joe Judge was visibly annoyed after that result. He went public with his opinions in a viral interview that aired on Monday. Here’s how it went.
"To disrespect the game by going out there and not competing for 60 minutes … we will never do that as long as I'm the head coach of the New York Giants."

Stephen A. Smith refuses to side with Giants HC Joe Judge
On the latest segment of ESPN First Take, Stephen A. Smith and Max Kellerman gave their two cents on the Joe Judge interview which aired on Monday. The Giants coach came out and criticised Pederson’s decision to bench Jalen Hurts in favour of third-string QB Nate Sudfeld.
But American analyst Stephen A. Smith had some things to say, to both coaches.
He said, “We understand that the Eagles have had an awful god awful season. We get it, we understand it. We understand that. Guess what? Doug Pederson you’re lying through your damn teeth talking about you and trying to win the game. You want to try to win the damn game. Look at who didn’t play the game for crying out loud.”

While Smith emphasised with Judge, he does not completely agree with his comments from yesterday.
“But here’s the thing. I don’t want to hear this from Joe Judge, I’m a fan of Joe judge. Absolute fan. I was the one raving about him all season long. I told you this weeks ago and I said this dude is really, really impressive…But now it’s time to stop this. Prior to this Sunday, you lost three in a row. You had control of your own destiny,” Smith further added.

Smith does have a point, the last three losses against the Cardinals, Browns and Ravens did hurt their playoff chances. But can Joe Judge and young QB Daniel Jones redeem themselves in 2021, is something that we will have to see.
