Andy Reid has a tough task ahead of him. The defending Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs will walk into the brand new Allegiant Stadium to take on the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Chiefs have had a fantastic start to the regular season. They are currently 8-1 this season, with the only loss coming at the hands of their opponents this week, the Raiders. The Chiefs are on a 4-game winning streak coming into the game.

The Raiders on the other hand have not started the season poorly at all. They have a 6-3 record and sit 2nd in the AFC West division, behind the Chiefs. The Raiders are also on a winning streak of their own, 3 games strong.

For the Raiders, the move to their new stadium was long overdue. But they have truly made themselves at home at the Allegiant Stadium. The state-of-the-art arena is one of the best facilities available to any franchise across the NFL.

Walking into a new stadium as an opposing team is tough. The Chiefs just recently played the Los Angeles Chargers in the new SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. They were able to emerge victorious 23-21 that night.

But the Raiders are the only team that the Chiefs are yet to beat this season, so Head Coach Andy Reid will be strategizing and planning on how to walk out with a win.

Andy Reid not concerned with the new Raiders stadium

Andy Reid sat down for his pre-game press conference. When asked about the challenges of playing in a new stadium, Andy Reid played down the difficulty.

“Yeah, so I don’t really get comfortable in them. Other than that we go in and play in them. We don’t focus on the surroundings.

“We try to focus on the game, the field, and what we need to do there, where the game clocks are. All those things you want to locate and then take care of business from there.”

Reid also said that the location does not factor in too much into their style of play, and therefore they just focus on the field, rather than the surrounding crowd.

“The other stuff, you put out. It’s crazy, you get so focused in on that, you don’t really notice the whole surroundings. That’s what it was when we played the Chargers at the brand new facility.

“Beautiful thing when you’re driving up. Once you’re in the game, you get a little bit of tunnel vision on just the field.”

The Chiefs, led by Patrick Mahomes, will be hoping to overcome the challenge of the Raiders. It will be interesting to see if the new stadium plays a role in the result of the game.
