Recently, the ultimate rivalry between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Las Vegas Raiders got the spotlight. The tiff between the Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Raiders’ defensive end Maxx Crosby was highlighted in the show ‘Quarterback’ that was released on Netflix. While NFL games are the epitome of the ultimate rivalries, the Chiefs and the Raiders have been pulverizing each other for 63 years. 

The tiff between Mahomes and Crosby diverted to a physical form. Where Crosby was seen landing soft punches on Mahomes. The defensive end was at his best aggressive play and he resisted Mahomes from connecting to his mates. The game reached the stage where the Raiders were leading by 17-0, and then the Mahomes showed why he’s one of the bests.

Episode one of ‘Quarterback’ features the thrilling match between the Chiefs and the Raiders. In the episode, Mahomes highlighted the tiff with Crosby by stating, “There’s always mind games that you play in the NFL. He was trying to do whatever he could to kinda get in my head. A little push or a little shove. Wrap me up and hold me a little extra longer.”

Furthermore, the entire scene heated up during the game when Crosby bulldozed Mahomes, and Mahomes screamed on the field by saying, “I know what you’re doing, but just chill out a little bit, you know? -Don’t just punch me for no reason, dawg. I understand you touching me, but don’t punch me, bro.”. However, the entire scene settled with the intervention of the coaches. 

The Raiders and the Chiefs are admiring the rivalry for decades. And it’s taken the way where it seems to be endless. However, the quarterback Mahomes has his part to share about the rivalry, where he points out the hatred they carry for the Raiders.

In the following episode, Mahomes shared, “Raiders week is the one rivalry in this league. that I feel like is like a college rivalry. You have that bit of hatred towards that team, and you can feel the energy. It’s just different.” It resides in the books of the NFL’s most bitter rivalries, where both franchises have battled against each other more than 100 times.
