The Halftime show of the Super Bowl this year will be memorable. Some of the biggest names in Hip-hop will be taking over the NFL during the break of the big game. Some of the names among these legends are Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, and Mary J. Blige.

We all know the favorite teams of some of these icons. The involvement of Snoop Dogg in the NFL over the years is well known. We also know that he supports the Pittsburgh Steelers. Being from Detroit, Michigan, it is no surprise that Slim Shady supports the Detroit Lions. But which team does his mentor Dr. Dre supports?  

Dr. Dre’s career and love for sports

Dr. Dre is one of the biggest names in the world of rap today. He started his journey all the way back in 1985 as a part of the World Class Wreckin’ Cru. Dre gained popularity with the rap group N.W.A. The rapper released his first-ever solo album in 1992 titled ‘The Chronic.’

He also received a Grammy award for his hit single “Let Me Ride.” followed by six more Grammys. Dre has worked with the artists he is about to perform at the Super Bowl with. He produced Snoop Dogg’s debut album and signed Eminem to his label in 1998.

The Hip-hop icon has revealed that he follows soccer. His favorite soccer team is Liverpool. Dre has supported the club for more than 20 years. Dr. Dre said, “Liverpool are the team I always look out for when I’m at home. Back in 1988, I was in London on a promotional tour with NWA, and one night we were watching TV, and these cool cats in red came on the box.” That was the night Dre found his love for soccer. Dr. Dre does not have a favorite NFL team.

Performing with artists one has worked with for years would be exciting for them. And this year’s lineup is history. Reflecting on the Super Bowl halftime show, Dr. Dre said, “The opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, and to do it in my own backyard, will be one of the biggest thrills of my career.”

Dre is at a point where he has done everything. So not many things excite the legend these days. But the Doctor is thrilled to perform at the SoFi Stadium on February 13th.
