The NFL world just came out of the horrific Damar Hamlin incident a few weeks ago. But it seems like the community just can’t catch a breath. Former NFL player Chris Baker landed in the hospital and admitted that his life almost ended last Friday. And the doctors hail his miraculous recovery, much to the relief of the fans.

Former defensive lineman Baker suffered a stroke and is on the road to recovery. But he thought it was almost a goodbye when it happened.

According to reports, former Washington DL Chris Baker suffered a massive stroke last Friday. He landed in the hospital, but the good news is that he is recovering well. But the defensive lineman admitted that he thought his life almost ended.

“I can’t believe I had a stroke but God not done with me yet,” he said a few days into his treatment, according to TMZ.

The doctors treating him at the Hartford, CT hospital believe his recovery is nothing short of a miracle. The 35-year-old suffered the stroke last Friday and, according to his mother, required surgery to treat it because of its seriousness. But the former DL responded as if it was a minor problem and is well on course to make a full recovery.

He is now up and about all by himself and is walking around the hospital. Baker also posted a video of his exercise that is helping him recover. The NFL world has seen numerous incidents related to the health of current and former players.

Health problems for NFL players 

The Damar Hamlin incident is still fresh in the minds of the fans. He collapsed on the field against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17. That is how the new year started for the football community. Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest in the middle of the game and the NFL called the game off. The Buffalo Bills’ safety is out of the hospital and is recovering at home.

There is a bit of an increase in such incidents where people land in a hospital due to strokes and cardiac arrests. Many fans have linked the COVID vaccines, although no clear connection between them is established.

Baker joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2009. Over the years, he played for several franchises. Fans know him for his dance moves on and off the field. He is on the road to recovery and may be out of the hospital soon. The NFL world is surely sending some love his way.
