Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf has given the news that will invoke cheer amidst every fan in Seattle. The recent months have proved to be a challenging time for the fans and Metcalf as they were reeling from the loss of quarterback Russell Wilson. With the loss of their talisman and the period of recovery from his injury, Metcalf has opened up about his future with the team.

During his appearance on the Club Shay Shay podcast, while talking about any contact with the Seahawks, Metcalf states, “I will say we’re going to get something done. I think I’m going to be in Seattle for the next couple of years.” It will be a huge boost for the organization, which will need Metcalf to be the focal point and lead them into a new era.

The freakish athleticism of the Seahawks wideout and the uncanny combination of speed and strength make him formidable.

He was entering the final year of his rookie deal and was due $3.98 million in base salary. The 2nd round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft has been productive in the three seasons with the franchise. The news will ease fears among the Seahawks fans of the rumors of a full-scale rebuild plan.

DK Metcalf is taking over the leadership role in Seattle

The departure of both QB Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos and LB Bobby Wagner would have turned attention to Metcalf’s future with the team.
