“Say No More Man”: XFL QB Shares a Special Moment With 5-Year-Old Son After He Vocalized His Want From Pro Athlete Father

The culture of football has been very prominent in the USA. Whether it’s the NFL, college football, or any other league, Americans consume football with a heartfelt passion. The same goes for the XFL. The alternate league has been gaining a lot of popularity in the country. With different prominent personalities like Deion Sanders and Dwayne the Rock Johnson endorsing the league, fans have taken a huge liking to it. Furthermore, the XFL has also become an avenue for players from the NFL looking for a second leg to their career.

One such NFL-turned-XFL player went viral after he scored a wild touchdown in his game. The player is a part of the team from Washington DC, namely, the DC Defenders. As he spoke about having a special moment on the field, he mentioned how the moment was even more special due to his son.

A special father-son moment in the XFL

The player in question is DJ Swearinger, the ex-safety for Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The safety spoke about scoring a touchdown for his team and how it was special for him. The main reason behind it was the fact that it was a special request from his son.

Post his game, the safety mentioned that his son had prompted him to score a touchdown. He spoke about how his son had told him that he hadn’t seen his father score a touchdown. So, he did it for his 5-year-old son. After the game, he even gave a shoutout to his son and said, “He told me last week he seen me on TV twice but I ain’t score a touchdown. So I was like alright, say no more man, I’m gonna score a touchdown for you today.” And that is exactly what DJ did. He went on to score for his team.

Furthermore, the comment DJ made for his son also caught the eyes of fans on Instagram. They took to the comments of the post to state their honest opinion on the touchdown as well as DJ’s shenanigans.

Fans get honest over DJ’s sweet gesture

As NFL fans are brutal, the XFL fans are no less. They took to the post to comment with their reactions to the play that led to DJ’s touchdown. There were some mixed opinions but fans did not hold back.

One fan spoke about how the safety’s throw for the touchdown wasn’t very good and said, “Respectfully, that’s not a good throw.”

Furthermore, another fan commented on DJ’s speed and said, “Dude kinda slow hahahah.”

However, there were fans who spoke fondly about the safety’s gesture: “I actually am starting to dig this.”

There were also comments that spoke about what he should’ve done with the game ball, “Should have kept the ball and gave it to his son, would have meant the world to him.”

Finally, fans were very impressed with the way DJ was playing and said, “It’s good to see DJ back in DC happy for him.” 

However, no one could throw any kind of shade on the kind of cute moment the safety had with his son due to his touchdown.

While DJ might not be playing at the highest level of football, he has gone on to showcase some brilliant skill as a safety for the DC Defenders. With his spectacular play, it only remains to be seen what kind of wonders the safety will showcase in the upcoming games
