Rapper Lizzo has been one of the front runners to bag the Super Bowl LVIII half-time show in Las Vegas when February rolls around. But a new update suggests she is no longer in the race to headline the grand event. According to the report, the NFL has dropped her from consideration after the recent sexual harassment allegations against her.

The ‘About Damn Time’ star is facing a lawsuit brought by three former background dancers. The allegations include sexual harassment, a hostile work environment, and discrimination. “Talks of Lizzo being a part of the Halftime festivities, or performing the National Anthem, are dead now that she is surrounded by scandal,” Daily Mail quoted a source as saying.

Jay-Z, whose record label handles the production of the Super Bowl show, recently canceled his ‘Made In America’ festival featuring Lizzo. Looks like he doesn’t want any controversy around the 35-year-old rapper to cast a shadow on him. And all this comes as pop star Taylor Swift continues to create a tsunami of her own.

As Lizzo continues to battle the fallout of the allegations against her, Taylor Swift mania is running through the United States. Swift is currently performing live as part of her ‘Eras Tour’ in major American cities. The bandwagon will then continue around the world. The 33-year-old will make her way to Mexico City after mesmerizing the likes of Aaron Rodgers in New York City and Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City. Apart from that she had jam-packed shows in Detroit, Glendale, Las Vegas, Arlington etc.

Swift is reportedly raking in $13 million a night on the tour. Maybe she could be an ideal choice for the Super Bowl halftime show. It is for the NFL to think about. The Eras Tour concludes in Toronto in March after over 140 shows across five continents. So, she might not have the date this time around. She is due to perform in Tokyo just a day before the Super Bowl in February. So, who should headline the Super Bowl LVIII half-time show? Do share your opinion in the comments.
