Patriots quarterback Mac Jones is not having a great time both on and off the field. Earlier, Jones made his return on ‘Monday Night Football’ against the Chicago Bears after recovering from an ankle injury. On his return, he drew plenty of controversies with one dirty play against the Bears’ safety, Jaquan Brisker.

NFL fans react to Mac Jones’ dirty play against the Bears
Earlier, during the game between the Patriots and the Bears, Jones kicked the opposition safety, which looked intentional in the video clip. Notably, this incident took place in the second quarter and Brisker looked in visible pain after that.
Jaquan Brisker just got kicked where you don't want to get kicked. 😳pic.twitter.com/Kua2kAXcgX

ESPN sports analyst, Marcus Spears took to Twitter and absolutely slammed the quarterback for his play.
Dirty ass shit man https://t.co/SrzPuMtnIz

Renowned analyst Nick Wright also pointed out a previous play by Jones, as he slammed him.
Everyone (justifiably) mad at Mac Jones for that kick to the crotch, but don’t forget him gator rolling Brian Burns last year.

Meanwhile, fans are also not happy with Jones, as one fan wants the QB to be suspended forever.
Mac Jones should be suspended for life

Another person called him a dirty player.
Mac is literally a dirty player

Whereas, fans blamed Bill Belichick, the Patriots head coach, and thought the referees should have ejected Jones.
That should have been 15 & an automatic ejection but hey what do you expect from a beliPRICK coached team

Another fan wanted the NFL to protect the other players as well, not just the quarterbacks.
I don’t understand how this isn’t a penalty not just for Mac any QB. If you make a rule to defend the QB adjust it to protect guys like Brisker who make every effort to not make contact. Jones had his foot 3 feet in the air cleats up, that’s how you injure guys

One fan thought that was totally intentional, and many others also backed this sentiment.
You can’t convince me that wasn’t intentional. His leg was shifted from like a 10 degree angle to like 70 in a split second

On the other hand, a few fans tried to defend Jones, as they felt that was not intentional.
Heel gets caught and triggers the ball shot — not sure that was intentional

Meanwhile, a few fans blamed Tom Brady for this kind of play.
Mac learned that from Brady

It is worth noting that Tom Brady recently received a fine from the NFL worth $11,139 during the week five game between the Bucs and the Falcons. In that game, he allegedly kicked Falcons’ rusher, Grady Jarrett, on multiple occasions during the game. Notably, the last time Brady received a fine like this was back in 2013, when he received a $10,000 fine for kicking Ed Reed.

As for Jones, he has to wait for the NFL to make a decision. Many believe he will receive a hefty fine for his misconduct. Meanwhile, he received another punishment from the Patriots’ head coach, Belichick benched him in that game in the second quarter in favor of the rookie Bailey Zappe. It will be interesting to see if Belichick will continue to use Zappe in the coming weeks.
