Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has had an incredible 2022 season. Winning the Super Bowl MVP award, he also went on to clinch the Super Bowl LVII trophy in a historic 38-35 win against the Philadelphia Eagles. As Mahomes continues his dominant performance in the NFL as a QB, he inches closer to the throne of NFL GOAT Tom Brady as the greatest of all time. 

The 2X Super Bowl champion’s marvelous record has also led him to strike gold in the ESPY 2023 awards. But it was not a holistic success for Mahomes like his NFL track record, as his and his wife Brittany’s choice of clothing for the event raised many eyebrows.

Patrick Mahomes and Brittany’s ESPY fashion sense fails to impress 

Let us first go back to the Met Gala 2023. Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany became the next best NFL couple at the event, after Tom Brady and his ex-wife separated, gracing the event and making headlines for the past few years for their fashion statement. This year, Mahomes and his wife took the cake for the NFL fanbase, stunning fans in their contrasting outfit. The QB was handsomely dressed in a black tuxedo and sunglasses, while Brittany looked elegant in a white gown paired with silver accessories and heels. But the ESPY was a different story altogether for them.

Mahomes won two awards at ESPY 2023. He won the ESPY award for Best NFL Player and Best Male Athlete. The QB took to Twitter to post a photo of gracing the event with his wife Brittany. This time, it looks like that their apparel choices were different for the event, with Mahomes wearing a cream-colored suit and his wife dressed in an all-black dress.

But this time, the QB and his wife failed to impress fans with their fashion sense, as many fans criticized the duo for their looks. 

Fans criticize Mahomes and Brittany for their ESPY costumes

Fans took to the tweet to express their disappointment over the duo’s choice of apparel for the award ceremony, criticizing their fashion sense altogether.

One fan commented, “Did you buy your outfits at Walmart? Ouch.”

Another fan said, “Brittany spent the whole day picking up your outfits from Walmart and yelling back at employees.”

This fan gave Mahomes some fashion advice, “You’re the best at your sport. But put on a shirt.👔”

Another fan criticized Brittany’s dress, commenting, “Looks like she got that dress at Walmart! It’s awful.”

This fan felt that Brittany could have chosen a classier outfit. “Brittany Mahomes looks so cheap. She certainly could use a little help with her attire. She is not a model or movie star and should dress a little more classy.”
