Detroit Lions freshman wide receiver Amon-Ra St Brown did not generate much hype coming into the league. However, the former USC Trojan turned things around after a memorable NFL season. Consequently, St. Brown is optimistic going into his second season and doesn’t worry about the outside noise.

St Brown said to ESPN, “I don’t really have anything to say about the people who may feel like my rookie season was a fluke. All I can do is try to prove them wrong. For me, I’m not really worried about other people. I’m worried about myself, the team and what I know I can do.”

Obviously, when the Lions drafted him, people didn’t have many expectations from him. Nevertheless, his amazing performance turned the tide in his favor. While some people doubt the rookie, others are looking forward to what he has to offer in the following season.
Amon-Ra St Brown is off to a great start in the NFL
The Detroit Lions drafted St Brown in the fourth round, as a 112 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. During this season, St Brown grabbed 90-of-119 passes for 912 yards and five touchdowns.

After a slow start, the Lions remained winless through the first half of the season. Likewise, St Brown’s start was very similar. However, he turned over a new leaf and it showed in his game-winning performance against the Minnesota Vikings.
Win over the Vikings marks a new start

St Brown netted ten receptions for 86 yards and scored the game-winning touchdown. As a result, The Lions’ first win came in Week 13 after a 29-27 victory over the Vikings. After that, the rookie didn’t look back and tallied 100-yard games for two consecutive games in Week 17 and Week 18. Furthermore, he also scored a touchdown in each of his final four games of the season.

Therefore, he has clearly stood out as one of the biggest steals of the draft. St Brown has signed a four-year rookie contract with the Lions. Hence, it will be fascinating to see how he contributes to the Lions’ success in the future.
