With four MVP accolades and a Super Bowl triumph in his Packers‘ chapter, Aaron Rodgers embarked on a surprising trade to the New York Jets. While the Jets, absent from the playoffs since 2010, eagerly welcomed the 39-year-old’s skill and leadership, the move necessitated Rodgers to make a substantial financial concession, amounting to a $35 million salary reduction.

However, Rodgers’ choice impacted not only his financial stature but also his popularity and standing. Stripped from the NFL Notifications list, Rodgers, once a prominent figure, now yields his spot to younger, more accomplished peers.

Big blow to Aaron Rodgers

On August 13, NFL Notifications revealed the top 10 QB rankings amid the preseason running games. Patrick Mahomes claimed the top spot, followed by Joe Burrow in second, $255M QB Jalen Hurts in third, and Josh Allen in fourth. Tua Tagovailoa from the Dolphins secured the fifth spot.

The list goes on, but Rodgers’ name is conspicuously absent from the top 10, which was shared. Although Rodgers’ specific ranking remains unknown due to the list only hinting at the top ten, this is undoubtedly a setback for the Jets’ veteran leader. Particularly disheartening for Rodgers, who had recently purchased a luxurious 2-acre mansion in Montclair, New Jersey, for $9.5 million.

Despite his absence from the list, NFL Notifications revealed the other five choices. Deshaun Watson secured the sixth position, followed by Justin Fields, Trevor Lawrence, Lamar Jackson, and Justin Herbert in the tenth. Notably, prior to this event, on August 7, the NFL released its official Top 100 Players of 2023 list & Rodgers failed to impress again…
