TB12 memorabilia market has a lot of scandals
Last year before Tom Brady announced his first retirement, a bidder almost spend half a million dollars on what was supposed to be Brady’s ‘last TD ball’. But the sale was voided after TB12 announced his comeback for one last year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Then last year, another person brought the 2000 Fleer Showcase Masterpiece rookie card for $396,000. While it was supposed to be 1-of-1 in the whole world, another individual came forward with the same card after the auction. Fleer Showcase then stated that while the card manufacturers made multiple copies of the cards, the others were not to leave the factory.
But later on, a PWCC spokesperson clarified the situation, stating that the bidder and they themselves knew about the existence of the second card before the bid. And as time passes on, it will be interesting to see if any Tom Brady memorabilia can pass the $3 million mark in the near future.
