Last month was a difficult time for the Mahomes family. 2X Super Bowl-winning champion Patrick Mahomes lost one of his main pillars of support in life. His grandmother, Debbie Martin, passed away last month after being in delicate health in the hospital. While the personal loss is a tragic time for the family, his mother Randi Mahomes has gone on to honor Grandma Debbie with an honorable tribute, despite being affected the most by her death.
But the $15000 tribute for Grandma Debbie still remains incomplete even after 720 hours of its inception. Will the tribute see a successful end eventually?

In order to honor the life of Grandma Debbie, Randi Mahomes last month started a GoFundMe campaign. The campaign named ‘Honoring the Life of Debbie Martin Gates’ had an initial goal of raising $15000. The money would then help in providing a scholarship to students who cannot have access to education because of financial reasons.

While the campaign has a noble cause, it still fails to garner the support from fans that it should have. Even after a month of starting the GoFundMe page, the campaign has managed to raise only $5,570 to date. The top donation made was $1500 dollars, while the most recent donation of $100 dollars was made nine days ago. Given Patrick Mahomes’ popularity in the NFL, the campaign with such a good cause should reach its goal effortlessly. But that does not seem to be the case, as the campaign is still around $9000 dollars short of being a successful one.
And not only this, the campaign itself is a great way to honor the grandmother of Patrick Mahomes. It is because she herself had worked in the education sector for many years.

The grandmother of Patrick Mahomes was an educational professional
Unlike his Super Bowl-winning grandson. Grandma Debbie was a professional in the education sector for 41 years. She worked as a secretary at Troupe Middle School. After that, she also worked as a Whitehouse High School Registrar. So having a scholarship started in her name is a fitting way to honor her life and her work posthumously. She was the biggest supporter of her children and the career Patrick Mahomes has built in the NFL. The most affected by her death is her own daughter Randi Mahomes. Both of them were really close to each other, as they both put in efforts to raise the young Mahomes and his siblings. Randi Mahomes occasionally takes to reminisce about her mother, as she posts photos of her while stating that she misses her presence.
With the new season slowly approaching, the Mahomes clan will be looking forward to this noble cause reaching a successful happy ending in the coming days ahead.
