The Seattle Seahawks are off to a flying start this NFL season. And one of the major reasons for the franchise’s success has been its rock-solid quarterback Geno Smith. However, it seems that Geno is smooth not just on the field but with the media too.

In a recent press conference in Munich ahead of their clash against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Geno Smith twisted and turned around some controversial questions about former Seahawks QB Russell Wilson. Geno handled the questions with the same level of confidence as he does opposing pass rushers.

Geno Smith deals with media hecklers with ease

When Geno Smith was promoted to starting quarterback at the start of the season, there were a lot of questions surrounding his abilities. Former Super Bowl winner Russell Wilson left for the Denver Broncos in the off-season. However, Seattle fans were not expecting Geno Smith to show up the way he has. Smith has led a balanced Seattle offense and in a few months he has become the franchise quarterback.

When reporters asked Geno about whether he did any high knee exercises on the flight to Munich, the Seattle Seahawks QB was quick to realise that this was a dig at Russell Wilson. DangerRuss was recently seen doing high-knee exercises on his flight to London before facing the Jacksonville Jaguars. Geno shot down the reporter and said, “man, I feel like you are trying to do something there.

Geno went on to say that they just relaxed on the flight and did their high knee exercises once they reached Munich. Smith also answered questions about head coach Pete Carroll’s affinity for playbook wristbands. Carroll had previously said that Russell showed resistance to wearing the wristbands. Wilson replied to Carroll, saying that he won a lot in Seattle without wearing one. Geno avoided the controversy and said he prefers wearing it because it eases the process and makes things more efficient in the game.

Geno and Seattle face the NFC South leaders, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Seattle Seahawks have now won four in a row after their 31-21 win against their divisional rivals, Arizona Cardinals. QB Geno Smith had a 76.5% pass completion rate and 2 touchdowns over 275 yards of throwing the ball. Smith is having a great season with 2199 passing yards and 15 touchdowns, leading his next QB match Tom Brady by five TDs.
