Being a top-class QB player in the NFL comes with a lot of sacrifices. From a rigorous workout routine to taking care of nutritional intake, a QB has to focus and keep a check on various aspects for peak performance in the field. Take the example of NFL GOAT Tom Brady. The 7X Super Bowl Champion was the oldest serving QB last season at the age of 45. And this performance is because of the way he carves out his diet and food intake to cater to his needs. And following the footsteps of Brady, even 2X Super Bowl Champion Patrick Mahomes is a QB who takes care of his nutritional needs and the type of food he takes.
While the Kansas City Chiefs QB might not have a stringent routine to follow like Brady’s TB12 plan, he also takes care of what he eats, along with the help of his wife Brittany. According to Patrick Mahomes, his wife has helped him develop healthier food habits, just like how Brady’s ex-wife Gisele Bundchen had an influence on his diet. But there are still certain food choices that the Chiefs QB needs to take care of with extra precaution.

In order to further bolster his performance and reduce the risk of allergic reactions because of food, Mahomes took an important step to carve out his routine diet. He took an allergy test to understand what suits his body and what does not. While some people may not have an allergy to any type of food, unfortunately, it was not the case for the Chiefs QB.
After taking the allergy test, Patrick Mahomes found out that he was allergic to nuts. It is one of the most common food allergies in an individual, and even the QB’s body cannot handle consuming nuts. So what did Mahomes do with this knowledge? Well, he hired a professional chef to take care of his dietary precautions and needs and make delicious and nutritional meals for him. With his chef taking care of his dietary needs, Mahomes can work on focusing more on the performance he puts out in the league.
But while the QB is allergic to nuts, there is one certain type of food that he enjoys the most. And it is something that many might look at with a frown on their faces.
Mahomes loves this condiment
While the QB takes care of reducing the choices of unhealthy food in his life, Mahomes just can’t seem to say no to ketchup. Even when growing up, Mahomes had ketchup sandwiches, which basically meant two slices of bread with ketchup as the filling. The QB wrote in his biography that even today, his love for ketchup is still strong.

According to a post by ESPN in 2018, the QB is also known for putting ketchup on his steak as well as mac and cheese. And he turned this love into an endorsement deal after becoming the brand ambassador for Hunts Ketchup.
