Kansas City Chiefs are riding high with their Super Bowl LVII victory last season. With their superstar QB Patrick Mahomes taking charge of the team on the field, they have successfully managed to win two Super Bowls, while also leading them to their first Super Bowl appearance after 50 years in Super Bowl LIV. He is on his way to establishing himself as the next GOAT of the game after retired 7X Super Bowl champion Tom Brady. The Chiefs even signed Mahomes to a 10-year $450 million extension in 2019, making sure they retain his services for the long term. But there is a little problem going ahead.
While the Chiefs kingdom prepares for another Super Bowl contention in the new season, a serious hurdle has come forward that might play a factor in their winning run. Something that seems eerily familiar to Tom Brady’s last season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and why he couldn’t win his eighth Super Bowl ring. So what is this new hurdle that the Chiefs face?

After five seasons with the Chiefs, offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy recently signed with Washington Commanders. Bieniemy was a critical part of how the offense of the Chiefs ran on the field with their QB Patrick Mahomes. With Bieniemy gone, the Chiefs will have to put their trust in Matt Nagy to lead the offense.
A change in coaching staff means a change in perception of game plays on the field. And for Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the Chiefs, they will also have to get used to a new roster after the restructuring process in the offseason. They have brought in OTs Jawaan Taylor and Donovan Smith to the team to protect Mahomes. But it is still a question of concern about the players fitting into the roster, along with the change in offensive coach.
This is something Tom Brady faced during his last season with the Buccaneers. A change that some speculate to be the primary reason for the GOAT missing out on another Super Bowl ring. Will it be the same for the Chiefs?

Will the Chiefs face a Brady-like situation in 2023?
During his last year at the Bucs, Brady saw a change in coaching, with Bruce Arians shifting to the front office and Todd Bowles taking his place as head coach. This change saw a transition of the Bucs’ game on the field from a passing game to a more defensive-minded strategy. The cohesion of teammates on the field and adjusting to new play calls is something that takes time to build. So many believe that this hindered Brady’s run for another Super Bowl victory. The Chiefs now face a similar situation in their Kingdom.
Will the Chiefs face a downfall with the change in their coaching staff? Or will they be able to continue their successful performance despite the winds of changes taking place? Fans will be excited to watch the outcomes of the new season that slowly approaches us in the coming days.
