Almost everyone thought that Watson would be handed a much longer suspension. The Cleveland Browns’ owners also released a new statement following the announcement of the suspension.
The statement released by the Browns’ owners wrote, “We respect Judge Robinson’s decision, and at the same time, empathize and understand that there have been many individuals triggered throughout this process. We know Deshaun is remorseful that this situation has caused much heartache to many and he will continue the work needed to show who he is on and off the field, and we will continue to support him.”

The franchise didn’t mention that Watson was completely innocent. It was a contrasting statement to what they said earlier when they traded for Watson. They mentioned that the athlete was “remorseful”. Undoubtedly, Deshaun Watson didn’t want to end up in the situation that he ended up in.

He might miss further games, and that would be bad for the Browns. Watson would be able to play in the Ravens game in week 7 if his suspension only lasts for six weeks.
Browns may expect Watson to start against division rival Baltimore Ravens. It would be a challenging task for Watson to lead his new team against a strong opponent. Watson didn’t play a single game last season. He has been away from the field for quite some time now. Browns fans can only hope that their new quarterback doesn’t get suspended for more games.
