Derrick Henry has made himself a household name during his recent years as an NFL pro. His previous season ended with a blast as he became the eighth player to reach past the 2,000-yard threshold with 2,027 rushing yards.

If this is what he achieved at a pro-level, imagine what would he be doing in his college days. Turns out, he was just as awesome back then as he held many records in his name, one of them being the 502-yard single-game rushing record with six touchdowns.

Derrick Henry awestruck by Kayleb Wagner

However, this jaw-dropping record has been recently broken, and that too by a one-handed player. Kayleb Wagner, the running back of Baker High School in Florida, broke the single-game rushing record with his mesmerizing 535 yards rushing with six touchdowns taking over the reins of Derrick Henry.

When Derrick got to know about the news, he personally DM’d the young and talented Kayleb on Instagram, congratulating him on his success. And promised to send Kayleb his cleats and game gloves.

“We went back and forth for five minutes or so,” Wagner said of his exchange with Henry. “He congratulated me, said he would send me a pair of his cleats and game gloves. It was very, very cool. I think it really hit me then that I had the record.”

Although, just like Kayleb, Derrick too had a tremendous game against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2. He rushed 182 yards with three touchdowns, sealing a victory for the Tennessee Titans in the overtime.
