Gear yourself for this story folks, it might rattle your nerves. The former defensive lineman went on the ‘Joe Rogan Podcast’ and dropped some shocking behind-the-scenes truth bombs about the NFL. On the Podcast, Wolfe revealed that one of the injuries he suffered during his playing days, left him ‘temporarily paralyzed’. But that’s not the worst part, get this: just two weeks later, Wolfe would appear in his next NFL game.

“In 2013 I bruised my spinal cord, I was paralyzed for three hours and then I played two weeks later,” Wolfe said.

In one of the most stunning injury stories, Wolfe was paralyzed for nearly 3 hours after a game. How the lineman ever saw the field again within two weeks is truly a mystery. As per Wolfe, the doctors on the team cleared him to play. “I couldn’t move. But team doctors said you’re good,” he added.

NFL’s history of injury coverups

Injury cover-ups are nothing new in the NFL. Many players over the years have been misdiagnosed, and the extent of their injuries covered up for the sake of the league. Take Tua Tagovailoa’s case. Tua is currently one of the top QBs in the league. The 2022-23 season was a breakout year for both Tua and the Dolphins, as he led the team to one of the best regular seasons.

But after a string of concessions, heavily caused by injury mismanagement by the Dolphins, the QBs career is at stake. With nearly half a dozen concussions over the last couple of seasons, Tua’s injury history makes it increasingly difficult to gauge his abilities. Wolfe’s story is certainly shocking, but as we said, nothing new for the NFL.
