Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski’s partnership for the Patriots was one of the most lethal weapons used by the franchise. The duo dominated for nine seasons in the NFL. After completing their stint in the AFC East, both of them joined the Buccaneers in 2020; however, per the recent revelations, the duo were destined to play for the Las Vegas Raiders. Instead, the last-minute quashing of the deal led the stalwarts to play for the Buccaneers. Moreover, it seems Brady’s “Motherf*cker” remark in a recent talk show was aimed at Raiders quarterback Derek Carr to get prioritized over him.

On Saturday, UFC president Dana White marked his presence on the UFC 278 with the Gronks show. Rob Gronkowski, being one of the hosts, asked White about what went wrong in 2020 and why Brady didn’t sign a deal with the Raiders. That’s when everyone realized that the businessman was trying his best to set up a deal for bringing Brady to the Raiders.
Surprisingly, White mentioned the deal was not just restricted to Brady, but was for Gronkowski as well. He revealed that the contract was almost in place, but the then Raiders head coach Jon Gruden nixed the deal and got it canceled. “I worked to put that deal together for Brady and Gronk to come to the Raiders,” White said. “It was almost a done deal. At the last minute, Gruden blew the deal up and said that he didn’t want them.”
Instead, Gruden stuck with his long-time quarterback Derek Carr and vowed to continue with him for the rest of the season. The reason behind the move is still unknown.
To consider Carr over Brady and Gronk was certainly an unrealistic approach. While all these stories have resurfaced, now link back to Brady’s “Motherf*ker” remark on HBO’s ‘THE SHOP UNINTERRUPTED.’ He hinted at a team that wasn’t interested in him at the last moment and Brady said he was like, “You’re sticking with that Motherf*ker?”.

Now it all sums up into one story, the one described by Dana White, and the jibe was at Derek Carr, the starting QB for Las Vegas. While there were speculations over Miami Dolphins in pursuit of Brady, this revelation has finally quashed all those theories.

“When we’re throwing routes that he knows already what I’m thinking before I even know what I’m thinking. So I’m like if that’s the case, we don’t have to say a single word to each other,” Gronkowski said to the NFL Network.
