Melvin Gordon has been a member of the Denver Broncos for the past two seasons and is an important part of the Broncos’ offense. Moreover, he’ll be excited for the upcoming season because he’ll be playing with a new quarterback as Russell Wilson will be the starting quarterback of the Broncos. Gordon recently appeared on a podcast and said that he thinks the running back position is about to end in the future.

Gordon believes that teams no longer use RBs in the way that they used to do. The Broncos RB believes that the game is heading toward a receiver-centric offense, and as a result, the usage of running backs is decreasing day by day.
He said, “I hate the position Running back. It’s insane we ain’t gonna have a running back in like four years… okay five,” He added, “They’re just trying to get rid of us bro.”
Gordon also gave the example of San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel. Deebo can play both as a running back and a receiver, but he wants to play as a receiver only.
Moreover, he believes Deebo Samuel wants to get paid like a receiver and not a running back. Running backs in the NFL don’t get paid like receivers and have short career spans also. As a result, maybe what Melvin Gordon said might become true in the future.

Melvin Gordon will be excited about the next season
Melvin Gordon and the entire Denver Broncos team should be very excited for the upcoming season. They finally have an elite quarterback leading them, and they are a Super Bowl contender in the upcoming season.
However, their road to success won’t be easy. They are a part of the AFC West, which is as tough a division as it comes. Russell Wilson and the rest of the Broncos’ team will have to be ready from the start of the season. The Broncos have a pretty good team, and they can make a good run in the forthcoming season.
