Shannon Sharpe isn’t a stranger to troublesome and controversial remarks. The former Broncos star hosts the infamous Skip and Shannon: UNDISPUTED with Skip Bayless. As a part of a media debate show, Shannon gets the pass for saying a lot of things. However, this one remark about Nicki Minaj could have made headlines if it reached the hip-hop star.

The particular incident took place in the former NFL talk show ‘The NFL GameDay Prime’ with former legends Deion ‘Prime Time’ Sanders and LaDainian Tomlinson. Shannon claims his show co-guests set him up and also apologized to Nicki.

Shannon Sharpe once took a dig at Nicki Minaj

One of the loudest tight ends to ever grace the gridiron, Shannon Sharpe, is a quote-generating machine who has always run his mouth. On-field, Sharpe was the master of trash talking and he lived up to his playing time reputation even after retirement. He is regularly involved in heated and controversial debates with Skip where they discuss their takes on NFL teams. However, on the GameDay Prime show with Sanders, Shannon went off-sport and took a shot at Nicki Minaj.

When the host asked Prime Time Deion on whether he was still coaching, Sanders went into his coaching style and made a joke. Deion said that he used a play with his team called the Nicki Minaj, to which Shannon Sharpe quickly responded, “it’s fake. It’s a fake, isn’t it?

Sharpe walked the walk when he talked the talk
