“I Had an Uncle Like That”: Coach Prime’s Hilarious Expression After Memorable Ralphie Meet Makes NFL Twitter Smile

Colorado has officially waved goodbye to coach Karl Dorrell, bringing in Coach Prime as a replacement. Most NFL and even MLB fans must be familiar with the man, the myth, and the legend known as Coach Prime. And for those who don’t, here’s a hint: the man played a World Series while winning two Super Bowl championships. Yes, you guessed it. Deion Sanders is on his way to Colorado Buffaloes, taking on the role of head coach for the football team.

Needless to say, the state of Colorado welcomes Sanders in style, but his initiation could only be considered complete once he has Ralphie’s blessing. Coach Prime is not one to be intimated easily, but his recent interaction with the Colorado mascot showed even Sanders is human, and the internet can’t help but take notice.

When Deion Sanders met Ralphie

The 1,200-pound buffalo, Ralphie, has been Colorado’s proud mascot for a while, and he certainly has the stature to intimidate anyone including Deion Sanders. Sanders seems to be going above and beyond integrating himself with the tough-nosed mentality of Colorado, and he certainly needed Ralphie’s blessings.

In a video released by Colorado, the 2x Super Bowl champion visited the school’s live mascot, Ralphie.

Turns out the thing that amused Sanders the most was Ralphie’s tongue, “Lord, that tongue is like a brick,” Sanders said.

Ralphie’s caretaker further explained that she only had bottom teeth and no front teeth, to which Sanders jokingly adds, “I had an uncle like that”

Much to Sanders’s surprise, he was asked if he would like to see Ralphie run, to which an enthusiastic Sanders replies, “Yeah I wanna see it,”

However, Sanders wasn’t fully aware of what he had got himself into, and maybe even Ralphie wanted to show who’s boss. Sure enough, Ralphie went running around Folsom Field as Sanders waited in the trailer and then, the buffalo came at him at full speed.

“Oh no, I’m not standing in here while this thing is coming at me full speed,” exclaimed an otherwise confident Sanders. The interaction has since won the hearts of many avid Colorado supporters, as netizens couldn’t help but laugh at the hilarious moment.

Fans left in fits

Deion Sanders and Ralphie’s first time meeting each other certainly broke the internet as many fans took to Twitter to have a quick laugh.

One fan was already looking forward to the interaction and he certainly wasn’t disappointed, “I have been awaiting this 1st meeting for some time now and @DeionSanders reaction didn’t disappoint“.

While another felt that Sanders did what every other man would have done, “Proud of you Coach Prime. RALPHIE is very intimidating, especially since that leap into the trailer at the end. No other live mascot like her. This is exactly why she should be the #1 live mascot in all of college sports.”

One fan chose to make a witty quip.

Most fans just simply adored the meeting.

Needless to say, Deion Sanders certainly had an eventful welcome to Colorado, and Ralphie must have helped inspire a sense of urgency in him, even motivating him to face the upcoming challenges head-on.
