While talking about Brady’s retirement on The Doug Goutlieb Show, Sanders said, “So I walked away because…I really didn’t want to, I just didn’t want to play because I knew it wasn’t gonna be a productive situation… So I wasn’t really done mentally. Tom, I feel mentally and emotionally, he’s done.”
Sanders believes both his and Tom’s retirement decisions took place under different circumstances and on totally different terms.
The NFL legend describes how he wasn’t ready to play for coach Marty Schottenheimer and was mentally checked out and ready to retire. But in Brady’s case, Sanders believes that he is retiring because he wants to walk away and move on to his next chapter.

He believes that Brady is only teasing but won’t be coming back because he made the choice of walking away. He admires Brady for retiring from the league on his terms while maintaining his love for the game.
Sanders compares their situations while stating that he believed that staying on in Washington wouldn’t have been productive. He admits having concerns over the team and their direction as one of the reasons for deciding to retire.

He has a firm belief that the 7-time Super Bowl champion Brady has done it all. Sanders believes he hasn’t got anything more to prove to anyone.
